AN APPEAL TO HELP A FELLOW GOAN
Christmas has passed (a time of goodwill to family & friends) and as we approach the new year, I would to appeal to your generosity once again. I need your help to defray the cost of repatriating the body of a fellow-Goan, Arminho Fernandes, back to his family in Cortalim, Goa. Arminho sadly died in Ealing Hospital on 18/11/2013 following a massive stroke and left behind a wife and three daughters. I am working with the Goan Community Association (Ealing), Hounslow Goans and the Goan Welfare Society (the only Goan Charity – No. 280542) to raise the necessary funds to settle the invoice for the repatriation which has already been effected.
Any donation, big or small, is welcome as it will help us to achieve our target of £2,000 to meet the outstanding cost of the repatriation which we arranged through ROWLAND BROTHERS INTERNATIONAL, a firm of Funeral Directors in Croydon. They have very kindly agreed to give us time to collect the necessary funds. Donations in cash can be handed to any Trustee of the Goan Welfare Society (Paul De Mendonca, Norma Menezes-Rahim, Alfred Rebello, Raymond Lobo or myself) or to any Director of the Goan Association (UK). Cheques should be made payable to: Goan Welfare Society and endorsed on the reverse “Arminho Fernandes” and can be posted to the address above. Your address on the back of the cheque would be useful if you are paying tax as we can reclaim this from HMRC by completing a gift aid form.
May I convey my sincere thanks in advance for your help and support in assisting us to carry out welfare work within the Goan Community.
God bless and best wishes for a Peaceful Christmas & Joyful New Year!
